Biography

My Bio For the past four decades, Mona has enveloped herself in placing pen to paperand keys to keyboard spilling emotions, ideas, and concepts into into various genres of writing. At the age of 11, her dream to become an author emerged from a dramatic incident that took place at her middle school in Pemberton, New Jersey. It was at that time, she made the committment to use her words to create change.

Mona is the product of an African American and German Alliance, and that played a large role in the duality she would exist in. She has traveled an often difficult path in life, yet she has remained strong and true to her beliefs and convictions. Through the years, she has written books about the joy of being a survivor. This is what she wants to impart on her readers. Her primary goal is to reach out to women of all ages and races, and to bring across the message that believing in the self and staying strong is the foundation to overcoming anything.

In 2007, Mona made the choice to self publish her work in order to get her words out into the world. That decision was the catalyst for a major transition from wanting to be an author to becoming one. Since then, she has published four books of poetry and a novel. The doors have opened and Mona plans to continue publishing future works. She has recently become involved in brainstorming with other artists, and has begun a transition into multimedia projects.
